The Galician Translation Library (BITRAGA), since 2004, is an open-access database created and developed by the homonymous research group BITRAGA at the Faculty of Philology and Translation of the University of Vigo.
This digital database provides bibliographic references enriched with a wide range of paratextual information about texts translated into and from the Galician language. Its aim is to highlight the cultural and political significance of translated works and their authors.
The catalogue promotes the scientific exchange of data among all those interested in this field of study — authors, translators, literary critics, publishers, the academic community, and professional associations — as well as any other individuals, institutions, or public and private bodies.
The Galician Translation Library compiles records of book translations published from 1980 to the present day. The registration of previously published translations, as well as those included in serials, is currently in progress. This is an ongoing and expanding project, open to suggestions.
